Fics marked as character A having a mental-illness to overcome as they are cared for and/or falling in love with character B, then going into the fic and finding character A is a drooling, diaper-wearing, masturbating-at-inappropriate-times, speaks like a toddler mess. Makes me backpage faster than anything.

I go into it expecting ptsd, amnesia, temporary extreme paranoia, schizophrenia, dis-associative disorder or something with the character learning to overcome or cope with it - not unfounded, the summaries usually imply something along those lines.

But then a couple paragraphs in I get a flailing 2yr old in an adults body with the implication they're going to fall in love and have sex with their primary caretaker. >:( And the masturbation....what is WITH the inappropriate masturbation in these fics?

I can't believe I've stumbled across these things a couple times in several fandoms. Wth.

Incredibly late but...

Yes, they are always very offensive to me. It usually takes a couple paragraphs before there are enough details for me to realize, and what I get from a quick skim to check is usually horrible.

Fandoms so far: Supernatural, Harry Potter, Yugioh, Tolkien, Thor, The Avengers and X-men First Class. I don't have any links to any of them because, again, I ran away as fast as I could.
