(Anonymous) 2013-04-28 01:37 am (UTC)(link)Yeah, this is why I'll never really see the "it's a courtesy, not a requirement" argument. You can argue all you want that holding the door for the person behind you is a courtesy, I'll still think you're an asshole if you slam it in their face.

And just like that false equivalence, choosing not to add warnings gets treated by some people as if it's the same thing as deliberately forcing someone to view triggering material-but it's really, really not. Not going out of one's way to accommodate others, even if that would be the polite thing to do, is entirely different that intentionally and actively seeking to harm or even just be rude to someone.
