I agree but I think a lot of people think that because whenever any time there is a new female character she gets nothing but hate from the fans.

Are you serious right now with "gets nothing but hate from the fans"? Did you read the rest of this thread? I mean SPN fandom has a really shitty history with just knee-jerk hating female characters, but from what I've seen everybody just goddamn loves Charlie.

I generally check myself to see if I'd dislike the same character if that character were male. And in this case, I do. His name is Garth Fitzgerald IV.

I don't mean Charlie I mean the other female characters aka the ones that are all dead because the fans wanted them dead even though there are many that were awesome. I can't think of one I disliked. I just think the Charlie fans are extra defensive when a hater comes along. I think most of us are afraid if just one person hates her and tells the writers that then they will kill her.

Really? I'm pretty sure that if they actually did kill off the ladies because they were hated it took more than one email, the writers are pandery, but not that much. It should also be kept in mind that there were a lot of really shitty narrative choices (Jo, Ellen) and just shitty writing that tied into their demises.

And regardless, being defensive is no excuse for the asshattery the OC was displaying up there so that's irrelevant.
