And I get mortally embarrassed when I see a character get in trouble on television. I just start to cringe and cover my eyes and shrink away. I can barely watch I Love Lucy because of it.

And while I love Fraiser, there are times when I just have to hit the mute button if he and/or Niles did something particularly horrible and stupid and now they're getting found out but first they have to explain it awkwardly. I'll sit through whatever trauma scenes Game of Thrones throws at me, but that's just too much, apparently.
Never thought of talking into the camera as a thing. Way too many fun internet reviewers for that one to bug me.

Now see, I get embarrassed when I watch shows but it's way turned down. I don't care when characters get in trouble. I only feel embarrassed when they do something embarrassing and there's another character whose opinion matters who catches them doing the embarrassing thing. Even then, it has to be what I consider super embarrassing for it to kick in. I guess this is because this is where the divide between characters and real people helps me out. Real life makes me feel worse. (Like I can't watch some comedy shows that rely on doing embarrassing things in public.)
