First day in a while I've been here earlier enough to comment, but after reading a bunch of threads, does anyone else feel like somebody's been trying to get fandom!secrets to do their homework for them? Between "Books you read in high school!" and handful of other things -- especially "
The truth is valuable in and of itself" that's kind of the impression I got.

I asked because...I'm curious? What kind of homework assignment could I be doing by asking what people read when I didn't go back and actually engage in most of the thread? Some kind of survey work?

I don't think so - the questions aren't specific enough for me to think that, and certainly the answers haven't been nearly specific enough to be helpful.

Conspiracy theory time: you're right! And you're actually the anon whose been asking those questions!

Nope, never got that impression myself. Just that some people are trying to keep discussion alive and fresh. Though I admit those seem a bit forced to me and not all that interesting.

It does amuse me that I think we've now seen every variation of "Trope or work or episode where your relation to it can be compared to fandom's relation to it or to your relation to it in the past" - Work you love that fandom hates, episode that fandom loves that you hate, work you used to love but now hate, trope you used to love but now hate. Part of me wants to believe that someone actually has a checklist and they're working their way through every possible variation.

There's more than one anon who asks that stuff, actually. I'm one of them, although I think I've asked only ~5 topics.

I ask because I'm curious and enjoy seeing fannish opinions on f!s because I'm not very active in fandom many other places. I enjoy being an anon too much.
