My main problem (which isn't even that big, I don't really think about her that much) is that I think she, or at least her fans, think that she is smarter than she is. For instance, the idea behind her poem had the potential to say some really interesting things about terrorism, the modern world, globalisation, fear and violence, youth alienation, you name it - but the final product was just mediocre.

The fact that she failed to contribute something important with her poem combined with its timing pushed the whole thing into the mildly offensive category. There are times when it's important for art to offend; this was not one of them. Basically I think her whole schtick is style over substance. (Which is possibly why she and Gaiman work well together since I think they suffer from the same problem...)
