Need to rant, anyone?

(Anonymous) 2013-05-01 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I just got home from work and had the shittiest fucking day. My boss, and one of our regular clients, who's difficult to please at best, were both being massive fucking assholes, and for some reason my boss feels the need to kiss this particular client's ass, way more than other clients, despite the fact that we make way less money off of this one than some of the others, and I just don't fucking understand it. Honestly I'd probably think they were fucking if that didn't seem incredibly unlikely (for reasons I don't want to say because I'm sure someone here would have issue with them). And now, because of this fuckwad I'm going to have to work when I was supposed to be off and just GAH. I'm so pissed off.

Anyone else need to rant about anything?

A psycho that for some reason is a FB friend (she's a college friend of my BF's and I was stupid enough to accept her request) discovered she's actually not pregnant like she thought she was and decided that this is the same as having a miscarriage and is whining that no one will give her sympathy for her "miscarriage," in between bragging about physically abusing her toddler.

Block her. It's not worth pain.

Take screencaps. Send to CPS.

I have super writer's block on a fic for a big bang which is due in a month, but I want to send the completed version to my artist long before that time. D: I just want to finish it this week, but it doesn't seem like that's going to happen

I keep getting a suntan mustache, even though the things that are supposed to cause one - antibiotics, birth control, pregnancy, forgot to put sunscreen on your upper lip - do not apply to me. One day spent mostly outdoors with sunscreen and a hat and I still get one. I even reapplied sunscreen twice! Arg!

I don't understand people who have to bring their really young kids to work, like, every day. Either find a nanny (even part time), do your work from home (again, even part time) or find some other solution. Our office building is packed and I guarantee a lot of tenants on their floor are tired of hearing them crying.

Unfortunately, not everyone has those options. I'm sure they would if they could.

Are these young children behaved, aside from the crying? If no, complain to the parents. If yes, get over it.

Daycare for five days a week, per month, costs more than a month's rent in many places. Most people can't afford that. Also, "work from home" isn't allowed in a lot of office jobs, because benefits are closely tied to hours worked.

They're kind of screamers. Not ALL THE TIME but often enough that, again, the nearby offices get annoyed. The building managers do talk to them, the kids shut up/disappear for a while and then they're back like weeks later.

I'm not saying FIVE DAYS A WEEK of daycare or anything, or banning kids from the offices entirely, but surely they don't need to be there *as often* as they are?

My boss needs to stop fucking texting me at 5:30 in the morning.

Jesus Christ, dude, just wait like an hour and a half or something, nothing you're saying is that urgent. Shit.

(extra bonus irony points for the time he texted me at 5:30 AM to tell me I could sleep in because I didn't need to go in till late)

Turn off your phone, or leave it in another room. You say nothing he says is that urgent, but you're the one who sleeps with it by your bedside.

If you use the alarm to wake up, just set the text noise to silent.

Better yet if you have a iPhone, Do Not Disturb mode is handy.

I just accidentally dropped my iPhone down a crack from which it can never return and now I am mourning it. It was big and beautiful and expensive and had all my music on it and I was about to use it to help me get to sleep. My best earbuds managed to survive, at least...

Tomorrow I'll suck it up and buy a new one and be more careful with it, but tonight, I grieve. ;_________________;

A friend just started a blog about her impressive (and healthily accomplished) weight loss called "Lose the Shame" and while I'm happy for her because of what she accomplished and can see the motivational value in what she's doing, I hate the implication that I should be ashamed of my size.

It's one thing to not like being fat, but now I feel like I should hate myself because I am, too.
