Yes that show had all of the above, but it was pretty sub-par. I appreciated the effort but overall the acting and writing just wasn't very good.

A lot of popular shows are sub-par. But they have pretty people so they're popular.

They're nothing wrong with that, really. People like what they like. Just don't complain about a lack of diversity on TV if you (general) don't support the shows that have it.

Even if they have "pretty people" I won't watch a show that has bad acting and writing. It's more the type of bad. There's a type of bad that's still good, and there's a type of bad that is just not any fun to watch. Sadly, for the most part, Huge was an example of the latter for me.

And for the record, I had such a crush on Becca. And I think there were actually quite a few pretty people in the cast.

Mileage varies, I guess. I loved the writing and acting, though I'll grant you the scripts were uneven. OTOH, The Walking Dead still has a fandom, and its writing passed unwatchable two seasons ago.

Apparently I'm an odd one because I don't care what the cast looks like, it's the acting and plots and writing that I care about. I also think I was a bit older than the target demographic because I just couldn't get into the "teens at camp" aspect of it.

I just think OP is (purposely) way oversimplifying the matter.

But TWD has a big following thanks to the comics, yet even during season one the fandom per se wasn't that big.
