People seem to be more vicious about shows that try a little and still fall a little flat, than those shows that don't try at all re: sexism and racism.

Stiles/Derek is popular because there is chemistry, but there are million other ships you could have too. Lots of people participate in the Sterek fandom because its big, and therefore easier to find something you like.

I think fandom is getting vicious with Teen Wolf because the Sterek fans have been talking some ridiculous crap about social justice and Sterek. ...honestly the Sterek fandom has been *ridiculous* (and wrong) and it is causing the viciousness on its own.

Yeah this is pretty true.

As a casual shipper i don't really go around telling people i ship it, because then they assume i hate other pairings (i don't, stiles/allison is my fave ship) and hate Scott (also, again no) soooo its just easier to stay away
