So, an anon who never saw the show. Stiles and Derek have many scenes together. I only need to mention the pool scene or the episode in which Kate shoot Derek.

They don't have a lot of scenes together - but the ones they do are either hilarious due to the character interaction or emotionally intense. This lends itself well to shipping.

That's because there isn't any Stiles/Derek - that's all fandom.

There are some racism and sexism issues but I don't think they're too bad, compared to other media.

People seem to be more vicious about shows that try a little and still fall a little flat, than those shows that don't try at all re: sexism and racism.

Stiles/Derek is popular because there is chemistry, but there are million other ships you could have too. Lots of people participate in the Sterek fandom because its big, and therefore easier to find something you like.

Yay for more Scott/Danny! Have you looked at the http://everythingbutsterek.tumblr.com/ community? It is a sanctuary for actually *finding* non-Sterek works, there may be some Scott/Danny love in there :D

Scott/Danny is my fav Danny pairing after Stiles/Danny. Of course I haven't read fic for it... I've just imagined it in my mind, haha.

I think this is a pretty typical reaction. I know I was pretty confused when first watching, after having seen all the gifs and fandom creations on Tumblr.

I can't really see Danny/Scott but more power to you! I'm a little burnt out on all the Sterek in fandom and always happy to encourage more pairings.

I'll read your fic. No really, I didn't see any real romantic chemistry between anyone besides Scott/Allison and some Lydia/Jackson but I ship almost everything in the show and am willing to read any pairing. There's a lot of empty space left in Teen Wolf for fanfic writers to explore.

I did see some sexism and racism but I find it's not as bad as other stuff I've seen. I appreciate that the show tries which is more than I can say for other shows. Does that give Teen Wolf a free pass on what they screwed up on? No, but I'm not going to rail against and shame them like I've seen some people doing. I think just making the writer aware of the issue helps, which people have done, repeatedly. We'll see what affect, if any, that has on the third season. I don't want to keep my hopes up though because, you know, I'm realistic.

Have fun with Teen Wolf, OP. I should probably tell you one of my rules for Teen Wolf fandom. It's one that you've seemed to have realized yourself. It is to take every fan interpretation with a grain of salt, even mine. Good luck.

That is my god damn hidden otp, and you have no idea how much I totally wish Danny will be Scott's future boyfriend because he will totally come around to Coach's idea of them being awesome together (he ships them probably).

Dude sniffs him up, dances him up, and casually walks in on him shirtless. Danny is becoming okay with this. Don't worry, part of growing up invovles getting over a certain high school sweetheart who is totally going to eventually realize a certain brilliant redhead is a very much better option 8)

Okay, I'm sorry I have to say it.

I love Scott/Danny. I've read it, I've wrote for it. But PLEASE will people stop acting like it's a better ship then Sterek. It's not.

Scott has never actually flirted with Danny. He has used him, and his homosexuality for his own gain in situations multiple times while he has adamantly declared his not at all interested in men.

So please just stop, it's not making you a better shipper. It's just making you someone who ships something different.

Hm, I never really thought about it because I saw Scott's run ins with Danny as mostly comedic fodder, but yeah, they would be really cute together. Scott's...Scott (and I mean that in the fondest way possible) and Danny is already quite accustomed to everyone around him being bizarre, so it would work out. Good luck writing it!

Scott/Danny is pretty much my actual OTP for this show. I just like Scott being this sweet dude who's kinda a doofus when it comes to Danny and is very sure he is straight but always kinda accidentally flirts with Danny anyway and maybe realizes he's not all that straight after all.
