because making fatties loose weight is 'good for us' or some bullshit.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-02 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you one of those HAES people? Because that is real bullshit.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-02 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't even know what that means. But shaming people and telling them "I only care about your health' when you really don't is shitty. And that's what fat camp is. It's shaming kids and making them feel shitty and teaching them shitty yo-yo diets that will make their weight problems worse. Instead of dealing with the under lining issues be they physical or mental.

HAES = Healthy At Every Size, I believe.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-02 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Well...I mean...it literally is.

I'm sure you don't mean that getting to a healthy weight isn't good for you, though. I presume you're talking about people jettisoning into your conversation to tell you how much weight you ought to be losing as if it's any of their business and such.

Not the person you're replying to, but define "healthy weight." I have a fat friend in far better shape than a number of skinnier people I know.

Skinny doesn't mean healthy and "healthy weight" can vary from person to person. Hence there isn't an exact definition and most people who talk about healthy weight (instead of believing non-skinny means non-healthy) know that.

It is quite possible to be fat and healthy. While your weight *may* cause some healthy issues, its not actually as many as people think.

Even professionals can't agree on what a healthy weight range is - they recently moved the healthy weight BMI range *arbitrarily*.

Also, fuck mental health. Getting to a "healthy weight" by whatever means is good for fatties. Yay.
