I mean, I don't know, there isn't really a sense of community when you look at it. Granted, it's a very small fandom, but it's honestly harder to make friends in than any other fandom I've ever been involved with.

Yeah, I do agree. The only reason I did sense community in it is because I had just come from Hitchhiker's Guide where half the people are nerdy 33 year old fanboys or are teenyboppers who saw the movie. No one works there. Or Harry Potter where most of the people don't even care for the canon. So VB was different in that everyone actually liked the canon and the creators. Not much disdain for the material. So that was different. All my other fandoms, the creators are too super famous to care about the fans or are dead, so yeah. It was just different that people actually cared about the show, the creators included.

But when it comes to fan to fan relations, not relations to the show/makers of show? Yeah, pretty cold reception. No one wants to admit they're in a fandom. :( If I hadn't found [livejournal.com profile] terrie's DevArt and then [livejournal.com profile] deathmance days after, I probably wouldn't have any friends. I'm just lucky that I met some cool people.
