(Anonymous) 2007-09-18 12:24 am (UTC)(link)Hey, ever since I started cosplaying years ago I've paid much more attention to how I actually look inside and outside of cosplay, and I have to say, sad as it is, that it has actually had a completely positive influence on me, especially my posture and using sunscreen and lotion and that sort of thing. I think seeing all those photos of you around with you looking unpresentable (for me, my biggest problem was my horrible slouching) is what does it; you generally don't have that many semi-candid pictures of you anytime but when you're cosplaying.
...so basiclally I'm saying if it motivates you to a positive change, then who cares? My posture's better than it ever has been, and I'll definitely be thankful for it when I'm older.
Re: 6 OP
Since I started cosplaying, I take better care of my skin and general appearance and I FEEL BETTER about myself, because I feel like I'm at my best! I'm really self-conscious, so the extra motivation makes me feel better overall.
Good for you! Just make sure you keep taking care of yourself!
