Well of course they'd end up together, because we all know that it's impossible for a male and female to be friends/coworkers/partners/in the same room without ~sexual tension~, amirite? (gag)

aw it's possible! and part of why i love Warehouse 13... Pete and Myka seem to have, like, ZERO sexual tension. (in fact if the writers got drunk and decided to hook them up it'd be super awkward imo)

That's a relief, but I am willing to bet a lot of money that the fandom ships them like burning and WILL NOT be dissuaded that they are just friends. Apparently many people believe that a male and female being just friends is IMPOSSIBLE.

not as far as i know, actually. i don't know much about the fandom but the bits i've seen actually ship Myka/HG (a femme pairing) as the MAIN huge pairing (and it's a tiny bit canon as well? maybe? i need to rewatch the show - HG is definitely bi, Myka seems fairly nonsexual in general so it's hard to tell)... Pete/Myka doesn't seem that popular in my experience

Holy shit, honestly? My understanding of fandom has been deeply shaken. Maybe there's some hope after all.

Yep. Best fandom ever! I mean you still get random people who ship Pete/Myka but they're pretty underground. The Myka/HG fans, on the other hand, get acknowledgement from not only the actors who play Myka and HG (who were actually the ones to start creating a possible attraction/relationship, that wasn't written in originally) but the writers too, including the showrunner.

My only wish is that with the Myka/HG fans, there were more Peter/Steve, but yeah, it's the best fandom EVER. (Best SHOW ever too. I can't express with words how much I love it)

The Elementary writers are adamant that Joan and Sherlock aren't going to get together. Then again, that's also what the X-Files writers said about Mulder and Scully, but there also isn't as much sexual tension between Joan and Sherlock, so who knows?

I think they'll lose, like, fifty percent of their audience if Sherlock/Joan becomes canon. Me included.

It would be a really unprofitable move.

ohh, yes, them. they seem wonderfully platonic. not that fanfic won't happen but canon seems likely to remain as is.

(i think the main issue with Mulder and Scully remaining platonic is their chemistry was INSANE. not that Joan and Sherlock don't have it but the dynamic feels WAY different... the second Mulder and Scully met it felt like tension and I've never gotten that vibe in Elementary)

Joan/Sherlock: platonic OTP

Penelope & Derek from Criminal Minds
Harry & Hermione from Harry Potter
Gwen & Merlin from BBC Merlin
Donna & Ten from Doctor Who

to name a few off the top of my head.

Fry and Leela may or may not qualify.
