(Anonymous) 2013-05-04 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)LotR just because it's one of those things I don't want to see a whole lot of innovation on. The fact that there are people who do is definitely fine by me, and I do like a lot of non-shippy fanart. There's even some fic I've really loved that were pretty far away from canon.
But it's just one of those things.
aSoIaF's fandom just doesn't interest me, mostly because I'm satisfied with what's there but also because of what I've seen of it has been wholly unpleasant.
But also because I just can't get into live action fandoms. The minute characters end up visually defined by real, live people the fanworks end up being completely unappealing to me. Too close to RPF, but especially for fic.
