While I can understand not wanting specific questions about a pairing, banning questions about a character's sexuality is not so understandable.

I think it's justified if every question he gets about it is insane fan BS, and I strongly suspect that 99.99% of them are. I guess it's unfortunate for the one person out there who has a thoughtful, nuanced opinion to express, but I can understand him being willing to make that sacrifice.

I also don't see, in general, why he has an obligation to take questions about this (or about anything really).

+1 - when people ask questions/do things like that there's often a very heavy undertone of "please validate my side in a fandom pissing match." It's kind of shitty to use an actor to score points that way, and I can't exactly blame him for not wanting to put up with it anymore.

True, and I'd think he has no reason to do it except that he and the other actors have been harassed about it so often. Good on him to finally step up and say something about it tbh, it was getting embarrassing what the fangirls would think of saying next.

She was trying to ask if he'd ever do a "it gets better" video. It wasn't about shipping.

I found a post from the girl who was asking the question on tumblr. Apparently she was on her way to ask Jensen if he would ever consider doing an "It Gets Better" video. You'd never know from the video because the crowd cuts her off with their booing. I can see how Jensen would be annoyed with a "Will Castiel and Dean ever be canon???" question, but she didn't even get to finish one sentence.

They pretty much started booing a girl for saying she was bi from the way the video sounds. :/
