(Anonymous) 2013-05-05 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)I can handle a lot of tragic endings, but I read fanfics for my favorite characters and since I can stand seeing them suffer throughout the fic, I also want them to be happy again in the end.
That doesn't mean I want them to slide down a rainbow and fall into a field full of marshmallows. Happy ends can be realistic and still satisfying. For example, not every hero should just randomly get a girl in the end. That's a typical "happy ending" trope I really loathe.
