at least it doesn't spend fifty panels on sylladex shenanigans, which are kind of amusing to me but a real trial to get through when I'm trying to sell someone else on the story.

So much this. I have a friend I've been trying to get into this, but the sylladex and strifing crap in Act I is really getting in the way.

I ended up reading it to my sister while she played The Sims. "Okay, uh... blah blah sylladex shenanigans... blah blah... okay, here's story... all right, now you actually need to watch this part." She humored me for an impressively long time before falling in love with the trolls.
