(Anonymous) 2013-05-06 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)Personally, I like Junji Ito's stuff because it's not explained. Weird shit happens and no one knows why. That scares me. The universe he creates seem to be just inherently hostile, and that's creepy, to me. I would like to know where those holes came from, just like I'd like to know where Tomie came from or just what the fuck was happening in Kurozu-Cho in Uzumaki, but if I did have those answers, the stories probably wouldn't scare me anymore.
I'm not sure if that made any sense, it did go a bit rambly.
