But there is a difference between random stuff and unexplainable stuff (that most of the time isn't even plausible).
The last one follow some rules but doesn't have a clear explanation and it has always been the base for Supernatural Horror.

Sometimes there's an explanation about the why (1) but almost never about the how (2).


1: i.e. The ghosts were angry because their grave was destroyed!
2: i.e: Sure, they were angry, but why did they come back while they were happy in the after life? Do they come back every now and there to check how everything is going? They have an alarm in case something they own, like their grave or their corpse, is destroyed? Or they were always ghosts that were there, but nobody noticed until they got really angry? Let's not even talk about what, exactly, is a ghost, etc.
