Nah, pretty much this. Monsters Inc is actually my least favorite Pixar movie--it was...okay? Aaaahhhh! Real Monsters already did it and was funnier IMHO. And him...just didn't like him. For all the reasons you list.

I also thought the movie was okay at best even though I really enjoyed it when I was younger. It just smelled so much like ARM and nowadays I'm just sad that they didn't just make an ARM movie instead of Monsters Inc.

So much for "Pixar is so innovative". I don't get why this movie gets a prequel (no wait, I do. Because the monster characters are almost as marketable as the many, MANY cars from Cars).
