i think some of your questions aren't meant to be answered, that's the whole mystery/supernatural element in the story.

i get really uneasy watching movies or something where people crawl into really tight places underground or in some sort of place where it's nearly impossible to get to them, in case they need help. like in shawshank redemption where the dude breaks out of prison and crawls through the sewer, or in the descent where the girl gets stuck in the cave passage. claustrophobia/a general phobia of getting stuck are pretty common. i think that's the type of fear and discomfort the artist was going for.

i didn't think the story was that great, mostly because it was too short for the type of plot it was going for imo, but i get why other people got a little freaked out. also, tumblr overreacts to everything, so there's that.
