Junji Ito's stuff isn't as well-known as I thought then. I spent a few hours a few days ago reading a bunch of his manga to keep myself awake and yep, it worked. If you're looking for explanations though his work isn't really what you should be reading. Uzumaki is still the weirdest one of his that I've read though.
