I don't think it's insensitive. I view suicide as a personal decision that every adult has a right to make, but I think it's a right that should be exercised as responsibly as any other right. If you have dependents in your care, doing everything you can not to fuck them over (short of not killing yourself at all) is a fair thing to ask. Yes, I know suicidal people aren't playing with a full set, I've been there. Murderers often aren't mentally sound at the time, either, but they still earn judgment for causing unnecessary harm to others.

But, you know, at this point, I'm just glad she had the heart not to take the kid with her into death. It's a really low bar to set, but people can be so fucking awful sometimes.
