(Anonymous) 2013-05-09 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)If I'm watching someone get torn apart, I'm just watching a special effect. And sometimes it can be interesting to think about how they went about doing that (more for pre cgi movies of course)
But nudity? If I'm watching a woman (and it's always a woman) take her clothes off, she has actually taken her clothes off. I just find it uncomfortable, especially since I then become aware that as a woman this entire scene has not been made with me in mind, I then start to think about how embarresing this would all be, taking your clothes off in front of an entire film crew and then simulating sex with your co-worker.
Yes, I know this technically couldn't be applied to non-sexual nudity, but come on, how often do you see non-sexual nudity? Even if the woman isn't having sex, she's still taking the clothes of to titulate the male audience. That's always the entire purpose of those scenes.
