tbh any dose of humor in family guy that touches on a bit of realism kind of peels away the satire for me, because without the constant caricature and loud humor what's there is actually pretty fucking depressing to me

thank you - i think this actually puts into words what really bothers me about it. FG is a stupid, crude, dumb show with a handful of hilarious jokes (i watch it mainly cause my brother does and i'm in the same room as the TV most the time)... but the silliness of the whole thing is what lets me half-enjoy it. but touching on stuff like this? depressing. (doesn't help that my parents went through this and recently divorced, that's probably why)

i liked how Lois and Peter clearly loved each other despite both being pretty awful. gave me some hope.

and as other anon said they might have cleared this up in the show now? i missed that but i hope so

oh that sounds rough anon, and i hope you and your family are doing well

that's what i liked about them too, and i think that's probably the case, since that sort of thing isn't really drug out too much in shows like this, especially not with the main family
