(Anonymous) 2013-05-10 01:42 am (UTC)(link)My favorite theory is that Sarah has to go back to the Labyrinth as an adult, sure*. Most fic takes that stance - that they don't get involved until Sarah's mentally his equal. It's hardly the squickiest ship out there. At least Sarah had hit puberty and there was a significant subplot about how the Labyrinth (and Jareth's own actions) were being driven by Sarah's expectations.
* This is technically my second favorite theory. My first favorite is that when Sarah said the words "for my power is as strong as yours and my kingdom as great" in the finale, she made it truth and thus accidentally gave herself magic skills and a faerie kingdom and that is what she has to go deal with as an adult. Also, Jareth.
