Too many crossovers and the fucks I can give drop down to nil. It annoys me to see it but not to an immense degree. Buuut that was before I knew Homestuck and The Hobbit were being sucked in. :|

What new fandom of yours is it invading?

The Hobbit makes some sense in conjunction with Sherlock, at least in isolation. Lumped in with the rest of it.. not so much.

That sounds like a drug cocktail. 'Quinedict' sounds like something you'd use to treat malaria. 'Freeberbatch' sounds more like alcohol, though.

It's actor sharing that caused it.

A lot of fics for it tend to be reincarnation fics - as in John Watson was a hobbit in a past life, more often than not Sherlock was a dragon, and Thorin often gets cast as Sebastian Moran.

but yeah; people have already started making "hanlock" gifsets and fics and its only 6 or 7 episodes into the first season (thats if it gets a second season...)

i've observed how sherlock seems to cross over with all the things, and then brings dr. who & supernatural fandoms along for the ride, and i figure it's only a matter of time. :(

Sorry to hear that, OP. Hopefully it's a fad that won't linger unbearably long. I have a friend in the Hannibal fandom with these same worries, so you're definitely not alone.
