Wing Commander. I have it on VHS, and whenever I want to just watch a really, genuinely awful movie I plug it in the VCR and go.

All the Rush Hour movies. I will rewatch those things every damn time they get played on TV, I love them and their ridiculousness so much.

Also, several similar action-comedies. Ridiculous shitty action-comedies are my favorite thing.

Oh, and Batman Forever! Totally love Batman Forever.

The Doctor Who TV Movie. I give no shits about how much it sucks, Paul McGann is still the bestest. And the Seventh Doctor's death scene is one of my favorite Doctor Who scenes. It's my favorite death ever. I can just imagine random future incarnations of the Doctor ranting to his companions about how much he fucking hates San Francisco and will never take them there because fuck American hospitals and heart surgeons and Chinese gangsters.

XXX State of the Union. It has tankjacking! Ice Cube shells the White House! The President quotes Tupac! How can you not love this movie?

A lot of dumb action movies like that. And really just a lot of movies - I just really love the kind of goofy, slightly out-there movie that you come across on a Sunday afternoon while randomly channel surfing (Interstate 60) or clicking around Hulu (I'll Believe You - love that one). I don't know, something about movies that have fallen into obscurity and that are kind of doofy and likable really speaks to me.

Snakes on a Plane. It's just so frikkin' stupid, but I can't help loving it. I think seeing it on opening night in a theater full of nerds who'd already memorized the script had something to do with equating it with awesome in my brain.

Best of all: Hawk the Slayer. The MOST epic of craptastic movies. Jack Palance as the bad guy. The elf will make you want to throw up on Legolas or something equally revolting.

God I have an ENTIRE BAD MOVIE COLLECTION and the bulk of it is on VHS. Here are some gems:

ALIEN WARRIOR (search for it in IMDB cause I don't know why this one hasn't become a cult classic yet, maybe cause it's just so weird and doesn't make any sense?)
Miami Connection
Death Drug
The Human Tornado
Brain Damage
Class of 1984 and the sequel Class of 1999
Black Roses
The New Barbarians
The Faculty

Night Wars (It's like a budget crossover of Nightmare on Elm Street and Platoon/insert typical Vietnam movie here. The bad guy is the dude who played "Schemer" on the children's show "Shining Time Station" -- yes that show w/ Thomas the Tank Engine)

Trancers and Trancers II -- There's a whole series of these but I can only stomach the first two. They both have Helen Hunt. The main character is named "Jack Deth" and the opening to the first movie is like a budget version of Blade Runner. Jack Deth's love interest in the first movie is like twenty years younger than him, in the second movie it's a teenage girl but THEY EXPLAIN THINGS and oh boy. An ephebophile wrote these movies for sure.

SUBURBIA oh my god how can you not love Suburbia. Flea's first film. He has some of the best lines in the movie.

Deadly Prey, Killer Workout, any movie with Ted Prior in it (any movie directed by David Prior)


Then there are bad movies that are kind of good movies too, or the directors were self-aware. Liquid Sky and Female Trouble (my favorite John Waters movie) fall into this category. Robocop also qualifies

Blue Lagoon: The Awakening, which me and my friends rented because it looked terrible. Took it home and showed it to my mother and she cried out "they made ANOTHER ONE?"

It's a remake of Blue Lagoon. Teens get stranded on an island and fight before having lots of barely off screen sex. The male lead takes out a panther with his teeth, we think.
