There was this girl in elementary school (this was a small school where there was a lot of interaction between students of different grades) who was two grades below me, but would occasionally hang out with me and be generally awesome and understanding. She didn't really have any reason to listen to me or anything, but she did and was always nice.

This one time during a field trip, a girl in my class was incredibly mean and made me cry uncontrollably, and the nice girl actually cried too because she was sad about me crying.

I truly regret not finding out her last name, or anything about her beyond her first name, and being so incredibly socially inept back then. I should have been friends with her instead of the drama-filled nonsense going on in the older grades. I sometimes wonder what she's been up to.

That's a really sweet story. Not sweet that a girl in your class was a jerk, but sweet that you had someone to support and empathize with you.
