I'm pretty indifferent to it. I don't happen to have any trouble avoiding it, though. Probably because I only follow a few people, and none of them are into it at all.

But it is kind of baffling. The more fandoms you add to a crossover, the harder it is to make them work together in a coherent way, and also, the more potential readers you'll turn off by including fandoms they either hate or have zero interest in. I know those are all popular fandoms, but how many people are really into all of them?

i think if you drew a venn diagram there would be a large overlap between the dr. who and sherlock fans, and supernatural fans on tumblr.

Well that's where it started, right? With the superwholock, but then everyone started adding their new star-of-the-moment fandoms, and it morphed into the current monstrosities... not that it was that beautiful and pristine to begin with.
