Ooh, the fanfic stuff in p&r is really good.

I think there was an episode of Criminal Minds where there's people dressing up for a convention (I think someone dressed up as Amy Pond). Buffy might have? I know Glee has a habit with the shipping names too (and referencing "angry lesbian bloggers"). Northern Exposure has an episode where the characters talk about having a certain plot that won't appeal to their audience.

For the Supernatural one, do you mean the one where the characters go into an alternate reality where they are the actors for the show? I think that's a big one where they break the fourth wall (and the other episode where a character writes fanfic about the brothers and makes fun of the writers/fandom, but I don't know the names of the eps since I'm not in the fandom).

P&R might be my favorite because it's not really a throwaway gag or referencing a minor character; it's a solid part of Ben's personality (I can't remember how many fanfic references there were, but it's referenced Ben's fandom interests multiple times).

I keep thinking Buffy might have but I can't remember... I know that Once More With Feeling is pretty referential and postmodern, and I might mention that (I've actually had to analyze a clip from it for a class!), but yeah.

I THINK that's the one I mean, but there's also one where there's someone that writes fanfiction, I think.

There's a throwaway reference in Buffy to Willow having written fanfic.

Also, there's a strong argument to be made that the Trio, as the Big Bad of their series, embody a lot of the worst of what we might now called 'neckbeard fandom'. Definitely think it's something Joss had in mind with them.

I think I remember that episode of Criminal Minds. My mom likes to watch it, I was visiting, and that scene caught my attention. Then the rest of the episode wasn't about that and I lost interest again...
