Re: Fandom references in stuff?
(Anonymous) 2013-05-12 03:31 am (UTC)(link)ep 4.18 - "The Monster at the End of This Book" - the boys discover there is a series of books called "Supernatural" that details all of their exploits until the end of season three. They discover the existence of "Dean girls", "Sam girls", and slash fanfiction.
ep 5.01 - "Sympathy for the Devil" - this episode gives us the introduction of Becky, a fangirl of the Supernatural book series. When we meet her, she is writing Wincest. (Really, really, BAD Wincest.)
ep 5.09 - "The Real Ghostbusters" - Sam & Dean get conned by Becky into going to a convention for the Supernatural books, and are surrounded by people cosplaying as them and LARPing aspects of their life.
ep 6.15 - "The French Mistake" - Sam & Dean get sent to an alternate universe where magic doesn't exist, and they're Jensen Ackles and "something called a Jared Padelecki" on the show called "Supernatural".
There's other episodes with references to other fandoms and fandom stuff in general, but those four really enjoy poking fun at themselves, the fans, and everything about the Supernatural fandom.
