Honestly, I expected more discussion about the oddity of a grown person pretending to be a waterbender while showering. Guess everybody likes talking about nudity more.

Things you expect on F!S: people pretending to be characters/do special effects in a silly or secret way. (I pretend my wrapping paper tubes are lightsabres!)

Things you do not expect on F!S: last-minute statements that are self-evident and completely unrelated to the "fandom" part of the secret. "Bonus secret: I broke the showerhead one time!" or "Bonus secret: I think I'm good enough to win an audition, if I weren't naked!" would fit the usual "bonus secret" tropes for humour. "btw I'm naked when I do this" comes off as either being ridiculously coy (are you trying to imply ~~sexy~~ waterbending, but too shy to just say "I do this with my junk"?) or kind of creeperish (trying deliberately to make the reader picture you naked).

I laughed, but in the "wait, what kind of bizarro-world... what, why?" way. Either I'm humourless, or you kinda drowned out your own joke with the surrealism.

It might have garnered more discussion without the deadpan addition; that washed-up 'joke' pretty much derailed the conversation.

i wouldn't say it derailed the conversation; it just went somewhere the OP wasn't intending it to go. but it's not up to the OP (or anybody for that matter) to determine where a discussion goes, it's a natural and organic thing. i for one think this is far more entertaining than mere waterbending in the shower.
