Except that these themes are everywhere in our culture. They've been absorbed into everybody's subconscious and recur constantly in art and literature. And just because someone doesn't believe in god now doesn't mean they always felt that way, or that we're incapable of questioning what we believe and exploring it from time to time. There's also the fact that characters don't have to--and shouldn't, in my opinion--have the same beliefs as the author.

Also lol, "using it for profit". People have been using religion to justify war for centuries. And writing is NOT the field you go into if you're looking to make some quick cash.

I like the picture you used, though. The moon looks really neat.
