There are probably tons of people like that. Johnny Cash was such a damn good writer and singer. I mean, he took Hurt and just...owned it.

Yes. I like the fact that Reznor said the cover gave him goosebumps. It moved him so. Now that is how to do a cover properly.

I love when NIN fans get butthurt that Cash basically did a better version of Hurt than Reznor ever did, and their sole reason for being mad is because it's a country version. I get differences of taste but a lot of people like to dismiss entire subgenres out of hand because they think it's uncool. I'm so tired of goons going "I only listen to GOOD rap like (obscure white guy rapping about Mass Effect)."

i agree, especially that last bit. i used only listen to GOOD rap music myself, which was like one or two songs by some artist i don't remember. then i sat down and actually listened to some other stuff, and now i just listen to rap.
