Especially since they don't actually hate each other, even in the MCU. They started out with personal friction (caused in large part by a supernatural influence that was making everyone fight), and then learned to work together and developed respect for one another, over the course of the three days or so, maybe that they knew each other. Their trajectory leaves plenty of room for them to become friends over time.

I don't ship it (having only seen MCU), but it clearly is a totally different dynamic than the other ships on that list. Tony and Steve never HATE each other at all -- at most they don't get along and are irritated by each other. Not the same.

Hell, the one time they came closest to hating each other was in the comics, during Civil War. And even then it wasn't hate so much as...Steve realizing Tony had gone completely off his arrogant rockers and was hurtling down into supervillain territory with that whole clone!Thor thing.

....in a canon where a guy was later looking at alternate universe through a telescope and discovered one where an entire fragging WAR was averted because Tony and Steve got married. :D

THIS. I hate it so much when people claim that Steve and Tony hate each other in the MCU. They have some antagonistic friction at a time when THERE IS A SUPERNATURAL INFLUENCE AND EVERYBODY YELLS AT EACH OTHER. They also have a complicated relationship due to a) Tony meeting his childhood hero, b) Steve generally being in a very difficult situation and inevitably comparing Tony to his father. But they don't hate each other.

right? that was actually the one ship on the list that I could understand - the rest are sort of boggling, but that one has a little more meat to it.
