I don't write or draw so I mostly comment here and use tumblr for reblogging gifs. That's pretty much the extent of my active involvement in fandom. Oh I lurk on message boards, reddit, etc, but those things are either too tricky or I'm too lazy or uncertain to participate.

Hell, sometimes I'll start to post on tumblr and spend 5+ minutes rereading everything then decide no, the post is entirely unnecessary. I don't post often and when I do it's usually a couple sentences of pure idiocy that no one cares about, so there's no reason for anxiety; it happens anyway. *shrugs* (Anything longer than that I give up on.)

So I guess I'd just suggest learning what tags to post under on tumblr, and just give it a try. Same with AO3. Other than getting out there and posting or talking to people, IDK how people make fandom friends these days.
