Re: fandom anxiety??
(Anonymous) 2013-05-14 12:44 am (UTC)(link)If you want people to see it, be sure to tag it (some people don't tag anything and that's not good (it can generate wank)--some people want to use tumblr savior to block stuff from their dashboard and some people want to find the stuff the others are blocking and some of us are going, what is that??? It looks interesting but not tags as to the source/fandom!!).
This is my just my understanding: on tumblr, the first 5 tags are the searchable ones. So use those tags w/fandom name, pairings, characters, whatever. Like: Supernatural, SPN, Dean Winchester, Castiel, DeanCas if you want people to find your stuff instead of using them for comments like I love this!.
You can't search on tumblr with Dean/Cas (it doesn't like the /), which is why people write DeanCas or use portmanteau names like swan queen (swanqueen--you see both versions on tumblr).
A lot people make their comments in the tags: i really love this! instead of in the comment box/section. If you do this, just be aware that the tags, when you reblog, don't get reblogged, so if you want your comments to be seen by everybody, then you need to add them inside the actual text/comment area box. Sometimes some will reblog the tags for you--they'll cut and paste them into the text box to respond to them.
Give credit where credit is due and source your stuff if applicable. Sometimes, if you don't it can get wanky.
If you want a tumblr friend, I understand the way to do that is to get active, answer their questions, use their ask box.....I don't know, really. I just tumblr for myself for fun. I just reblog stuff that I think I will find interesting/helpful later. I find tumblr very awkward making for friends.
I totes am not a tumblr expert so. I'm jerithe on tumblr. I think I have like 2 followers. Don't really care. LOL. So, if you wanna follow me you can and I'll follow you back if you want me to. No pressure.
I'm into Avengers, OUAT, sometimes reblog Xena stuff, support women/femslash and also slash and het pairings (Tony/Pepper ftw!), and other things as it catches my eye (recipes, science notes, etc.).
Just a fair warning: I do reblog Regina (OUAT) meta and sometimes it has SJ aspects to the meta (I think Regina and the meta people create about her are fascinating and sometimes it really makes me think), and sometimes I do re-post some SJ-type stuff that catches my eye and that I think I might want to reference down the line (it's kinda rare but not--like sometimes 3-4 posts might catch my eye for a day or two and then I won't post anything SJ like for month). I am not a SJW. I do tag it so you can use tumblr savior to block the tags if you want.
Sometimes I don't tumblr a week or even a month and sometimes I'll tumblr every day for week or two.
