Maybe Dean/Sam? I'm not caught up on the show but those two are ridiculously messed up. Their codependent relationship always delighted me.

Yes! I'm not caught up on the show either and I've read that a lot has changed but I loved their relationship in the first few seasons.

Yea, idk what they're like currently but the last time I watched they were still plenty codependent and miserable and seemed to love each other more than anything. So normal, pretty much. Oh Winchesters.

Yep, they were pretty much still like that the last time I watched too. From what I've heard the current season is pretty heavily centered on Castiel and there's not a lot of Sam/Dean interaction (idk if that's true though).

I love that icon! I need to get more (and use the others I have besides this one).

I've probably said this before but besides the general decline of quality, that's one of the reasons I started to lose interest in the show. Idc about Castiel and the angels and demons thing overstayed its welcome imo.

Yeah, I'm totally with you on that. I don't care about Castiel or the angels and demons stuff. I love Sam/Dean's relationship, and I preferred the road trip/urban legend stuff of the first couple seasons...it's pretty much a completely different show now.

Where do you go for icons? I don't even know a good place to find them.

It honestly feels that way. There was a huge shift after the 3rd season and things never quite felt the same. But then again I often find self contained stories more interesting, and when a show starts on a drawn out arc like the heaven and hell thing I just get bored and frustrated and want a change of pace.

LJ! Just google, man. That's the easiest way to find them. Icon communities are good, especially if you can find one specifically for your interest, but googling is the best place to start. Just 'Hawaii 5-0 LJ icons' will do. If you want a specific character or ship you can try including that too. And if all else fails, make them yourself! (Which is a pain in the ass and never turns out well for me, but I do it occasionally anyway.) Most popular or even semi-popular stuff WILL have icons out there though, so they often aren't as difficult to find as you'd think!

I actually don't mind long arcs if they're interesting (and keep moving at least) but I find the heaven and hell stuff so boring. Plus it seems like it's been basically the same story since all that was introduced and it's just gotten old.

That's what I've always done but lately it seems like I can't find anything I like plus it seems like there's way less fandom stuff on LJ than there used to be. I guess I just need to search more (or make my own maybe, which I haven't done it in years but I could probably figure it out).

Yea, that's true. LJ isn't as popular or busy as it used to be, but depending on the fandom you might still be able to find a decent amount of stuff relatively fast. I think I found Assassins Creed 4 icons within a week of its first trailer, lmao. Maybe set up google alerts for the things you care about the most, so you don't have to go searching for them? Now I want to do that...
