Where do you find these kind of people? I've seen people talking about social justice issues online, but I'm not sure it was this kind of stuff. I mean, can you link to some of them, or something?

(also, why are secrets about Social Justice warriors always being posted here when they have nothing to do with fandom? I guess the Mean Girls stuff could sort of make this one a fandom secret, but I've seen some that literally have no fandom references at all.)

Have you ever been on tumblr?

Tumblr. God, Tumblr. yourfaveisproblematic is my favourite. It mixes genuine, real concerns like homophobia, racism, misogyny etc. and all sorts with shit like 'appropriation of cornrows' and it is just RIDICULOUS. It's a shame, because it has a good concept and I can see how calling out popular celebs on their problematic behaviour is important, but it's such a mess, my God, and it really undermines the important stuff they say :(

And I saw an essay last week that basically said if you dislike a female character- ANY female character- you are an enormous sexist and you should feel bad and go write fic for them. Like, seriously, what. There are definitely problems with sexism in fandom, but the solution is not 'like every female character because they're female', jfc. Again, a shame because the essay had some really good points but it just lost the plot towards the end.

Haha what. Isn't liking a character -just- because they're female fetishization of some kind, though? That can be pretty damaging of itself.

This. I don't understand why all the SJ-related secrets with no fannish connection don't just get relegated to the failbar.

Because SJW are all up in fandom talking about how evil everything is.

In this particular case the comparison is being made between SJWs and movie characters, so I'd say there's some justification in the secret being posted here.

I imagine they get posted here cause depending on what fandoms you are a part of SJW can be a very noisy minority in those fandoms. So even if it is not specifically about series, it still comes down to fandom dynamics.

The best (read: most absurd) SJWs I've ever found were on ontdpolitical or whatever that one was called. They are nasty little shits, it's hilarious. I recommend joining and trolling them, for research purposes.
