Re: Random run-of-the-mill episodes you totally love

DW "The Deadly Assassin" Yeah it was filler between Four losing a companion and gaining a new one, but, BUT! We got Gallifrey! Crispy!Master! THE MATRIX! I mean, what's not to love?

Blake's 7 "Gambit" IDEK why people hated this. Yes it is eminently MST3K-able. (I double dog dare you NOT to sing "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" when they're wandering about "the space docks" with the balloons and the tinsel.) No it doesn't advance the plot significantly. But it's just...hilarious. And campy (in a good way) and still smart and has enough plot threads to be entertaining, and still connects with the overall plot.

X-Files "Paper Hearts" So it killed the mytharc. So the fandom hated it. I liked it. So shoot me.

Babylon 5 "Day of the Dead" Completely self-contained and almost separate from the overall plot, but it still fits...and provides a good breather (as well as a teaser) for the bits yet to come. "Walkabout" is also often viewed as filler, and not really commented on, but it's another favourite of mine..
