This folks is why people use words like "misandry". Because if saying men deserve to get raped doesn't count as misandry, what does?

(Anonymous) 2013-05-17 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
+ infinity

I cannot take these people seriously if they call me a "horrible person" anymore.

It's not 'misandry' its... triage. A problem that affects a small number of men vs a problem that affects every woman. How is this such a difficult concept to grasp?

I admit I phrased that last bit poorly, but I don't think men deserve to get raped, just that it's not as big of a problem, and certainly not from a feminist viewpoint.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-17 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. You've stated that feminists don't care about sexual assault as long it doesn't happen to them. Out of sight, out of mind. We get that already.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-17 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Not that feminists don't care just that it's not a feminist issue.

I care about rape, but when it's happening to women it's a feminist issue. on the much rarer occasions it happens to men, it is not.

For fuck sake, are you guys so eager to attack somone?

(Anonymous) 2013-05-17 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
You yourself said that men getting raped are getting a taste of their own medicine, remember?

(Anonymous) 2013-05-17 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Your math needs work. Rape is an issue that impacts EVERYONE, but to varying degrees. Even if we did accept the flawed premise of it only impacting some men, and more women, then your logic is a flawed form of utilitarianism.

The same flawed form of Utilitarianism that could be used to support the US institution of slavery, the lack of LGBT rights, and the attacks on women's rights in the US going on right now.

By your own logic "If it impacts some of a smaller group, compared to an issue that impacts all of a larger group, it is unimportant and should be ignored" abortion does not need any support from the government, not every women has an unplanned unwanted pregnancy. But every man will need a prostate exam, so that gets funding!

Note: I don't believe this is true, I am using your own mathematics based entirely on hatred and reversing it. I do believe that insurance should cover abortions and they should be more accessible. I think birth control should be more accessible, but most of all I don't care who is raping who, or whom is getting raped. RAPE IS WRONG, FULL STOP.

Thank you.

A problem that affects a small number of men vs a problem that affects every woman.
Err, are you saying that all women are getting raped?

(Anonymous) 2013-05-18 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
ntayrt but all women deal with rape culture constantly yes

every man in every situation ever doesn't have to consider the risk or possibility of rape. every woman does.
