I just discovered at age 24 that my eyes are not in fact all blue as I've always thought, but that I have central heterochromia and a sort of fuzzy very light brown/yellow pattern in the center around the pupil. Kinda cool actually I guess?

That is cool, but I'm really surprised your actual eye color never came up as a topic. Have you never gotten an eye exam or had a passport photo taken, or something?

I have, but I guess it's not all that noticeable. People always tell me my eyes are blue. And the eye doctor has never said anything other than 'nope, your vision's fine.' I don't think central heterochromia is all that uncommon so maybe she's just seen it a lot?

It's harmless, but I don't think it's really uncommon, I've seen a lot of people with it without being able to put a name on it! Now I can.

Thanks, I never knew there was an actual term for that!

I have a really light case of that (mostly visible in good light). My mom is always complaining that she that she doesn't know which eyecolor to put on forms. I'll probably let her know that little tidbit as well. ;)

I have that, too!

It doesn't seem all that uncommon in blue-eyed people. Especially when their eyes are more of a grey-blue, which mine are. /random observation
