I will not read any fic that deals with my actual profession or training. Because 9 times out of 10 they have no idea what they're talking about and it just drags me out of the story with all the inaccuracies.

For me, this goes for most canons too. (Luckily(?) my area of expertise is not well-represented in media.)

I joined the Army because I loved military movies. Biggest mistake of my life. I spent 4 years being absolutely miserable and now I can't watch depictions of the military without getting upset at how incredibly wrong absolutely everything about the depiction is.
