I fucking adore that movie, but it's cool that you don't, there's a ton of popular media that I hate and wish people would stop talking about forever.

But seriously, it was a scifi action blockbuster, did you think The Matrix was supposed to be intellectual, too?

I think the Wachowskis thought The Matrix was supposed to be intellectual.

I'm not so sure about Christopher Nolan and Inception, but it's certainly possible that it was supposed to be intellectual... I agree that it should be judged as a scifi action blockbuster, though.
