My mom tried to argue that I wouldn't be so upset by her (false) accusations if they weren't true. So I feel you. Parents have a tendency to only see and believe what they want to, and it sucks for the kids that get caught up in their belligerent ignorance.

(I also get not looking at people when talking to them - it feels way too intimate to me if it's for any longer than, say, listening to a customer request or something.)

Yeah, and I bet she'd be perfectly content to be accused of something she didn't do. *eyeroll* I may never understand why [some] parents don't listen to simple reason. None of my biology classes ever mentioned an "I'm always right" gene that activates upon giving birth.
