I really really hate kids in media. Especially either of the Fanning sisters, or that one girl who was in Don't Be Afraid of the Dark and that one House episode. In movies I find them abrasive, screechy, whiny, etc. One of the worst things in the world is when an author shoehorns a kid into every one of his books while simultaneously being terrible at writing believable children. Children in books come off as either way too immature or way too mature.

Basically, if there is a child in the movie, I probably kind of wish they would just die.

Iron Man 3 was one of my....two(?) exceptions, the other being Jack in Pitch Black. While yes, the kid came off as a little too mature for his age, I found him refreshing. Also the way Tony reacted to the kid is just sooooo far from what we usually see in adult/child interactions that I couldn't help but love that section of the movie.

You need to get a handle on your seriously creepy dislike of kids in movies. Dislike them sure, but you've catapulted into wtf dude territory. Control yourself, this says more about you than any of us needed to know.

I'm not saying anything about children in real life. Kids in real life are generally cool, and I don't have anything against them.

Children in movies are a device, and usually a poorly executed one.

so no, I don't want any ACTUAL children to die. sorry if that was unclear?
