I didn't care. I probably should care, but I really don't. I enjoyed the film and I'm going to continue to enjoy the film. Tumblr can shout all they want about 'whitewashing' but unless they replaced Sulu & Uhura with white actors and had no actors of colour at all in the film, I'm going to continue to ignore them.

Dude it's perfectly acceptable to enjoy something and still acknowledge that it fucked up (maybe not to Tumblr SJWs but who cares about them?). I'm not happy with Cumberbatch being in the movie for a number of reasons (okay, two) but I'm still going to go see it and I'm still probably going to enjoy it.

It's not an either/or decision. There can be shades of grey here (but not fifty of them because no).

This. I mean, I'm not going to see it personally, but that's because I get attached to things and then can't bear to see them messed with. If you want to go, and if you enjoy it, then that's fine. You can acknowledge the bad things and still enjoy things at the same time.

Go see it, it's great. I didn't like the 2009 one and thought I might not like this, but it's much more nostalgic and nerdy than that, I loved it.

No. In this instance, what happened to Khan is more important to me than seeing the movie, so I won't be seeing it myself. I'm just saying that that's my choice, and someone else can make a different one.
