as a lifelong Trekkie myself, I was a little on the "wut" side when I found out that Bread Crumbs was playing Khan, but not so much that it made me not want to see the movie. The fucking "fans" on the other hand... they pissed me off with their endless bullshit to the extent that I almost didn't go. But I did, to the midnight screening, and it was fucking flawless.

So fuck em, the movie is great.

Yes I agree with you, I read some of the blogs afterward, having not been spoilt before seeing the film, and some of the tumbler racebender and stop whitewashing stuff, and I realised I really didn't care, they just annoyed me to the point I thought they need to get over themselves and watch the film, maybe they are scared they'll enjoy it.

I can think of reasons why they may have thought it was more problematic to have a PoC playing Khan, given he is evil with no good side at all, and I'm sure it was a financial and box office takings decision in the end, but I just thought BC was perfection, and I loved the film.
